Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge over central Australia directs east to northeasterly winds over the
Kimberley whilst a trough lays over the central Pilbara. The trough will
migrate eastward over the next few days. A ridge will strengthen over western
and central WA in its wake, extending a southeasterly surge into northern parts
this weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough extends over central and southeastern parts of the State, moving
east. A cold front and low-pressure system in the Southern Ocean will continue
eastward today and Friday, brushing the south coast. A ridge is developing over
western parts which will strengthen as it extends into central WA from Friday,
then slide slightly southward by Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 30 April
Showers and chance of thunderstorms over the eastern South West Land Division,
far southeastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, far southwest South Interior and western
and central Eucla. Showers also possible over the remaining South West Land
Division, mainly along the west and south coasts. Becoming windy near the south
coast.

Forecast for Friday 1 May
Showers and chance of thunderstorms over the north and eastern Goldfields,
southern and central Interior, Eucla and southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Possible small hail along the south coast between Windy Harbour and
Bremer Bay. Showers over remaining parts of the western and southern South West
Land Division, mostly contracting to southern districts during the afternoon.
Cooler over southwestern parts of the State. Windy near the south coast.

Forecast for Saturday 2 May
Showers over the far southern parts of the State, mostly near the south coast.
Chance of thunderstorms over the southeastern Interior and along the Eucla
coast. Remaining cool over the south of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 3 May
Showers over southern parts of the State, mostly near the south coast. Chance
of a shower near the northwest Pilbara coast. Chance of a shower over the far
north Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 4 May
Light showers over the southeast South West Land Division, the south coast,
southern Goldfields, southern South Interior and Eucla. Chance of a shower near
the far west Pilbara coast and the far north Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Friday.
