Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lingers about the Pilbara and western Kimberley coast, moving
inland for a period on Saturday before returning to the coast and deepening as
a ridge strengthens through inland parts. The trough moves inland on Monday
night.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front approaches the southwest, moving over the coast during Friday
night. The cold front will weaken on Saturday as it moves east across the South
West Land Division. A ridge will develop over southern parts ahead of the next
cold front Monday night.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 17 April
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over central and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, the southern Interior, Eucla, southeast Gascoyne and
Goldfields. Showers increasing with a cold front in the late afternoon and
evening southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Albany. Chance of late
thunderstorms in the southwest corner. Becoming windy about the southwest coast.
Forecast for Saturday 18 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over the southern Interior, eastern Goldfields, Eucla
and eastern parts of the South East Coastal district. Showers over the South
West Land Division, contracting north and east during the day and clearing in
the afternoon and evening. Possible morning fog over the Central West and
adjacent Gascoyne. Windy early in the day about the south coast.
Forecast for Sunday 19 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over central and northern parts of the
Kimberley. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the southeast South Interior
and northeast Eucla. Rather cloudy about the southwest corner but mainly sunny
for the rest of the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, Goldfields and Pilbara.
Forecast for Monday 20 April
Showers and thunderstorms in the northern Kimberley. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm over the Goldfields, South East Coastal District and adjacent
Eucla. Showers and winds increasing south and west of a line from Kalbarri to
Bremer Bay, with the chance of a thunderstorm about the west coast south of
Jurien Bay.
Forecast for Tuesday 21 April
Showers and thunderstorms in the northern Kimberley. Showers over the South
West Land Division contracting to the south coast by the afternoon. Chance of
an early thunderstorm near the coast between Perth and Albany. Chance of
showers and thunderstorms over the eastern South East Coastal district,
Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Saturday.
