Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough will linger over the Pilbara this week. A ridge over the east
Kimberley will gradually weaken as the trough becomes established midweek. A
ridge developing over central Australia will direct easterly winds over the
east Kimberley again from later Thursday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over the Goldfields and Interior will slowly move east over the next
couple of days. Two weak cold fronts move across the south coast, maintaining a
showery westerly flow over southwest WA until Tuesday. A new ridge will extend
over southern WA from later Tuesday, before sinking to the south coast on
Thursday as a trough develops over the inland South West Land Division and
inland Gascoyne.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 30 March
Showers and possible gusty thunderstorms over southwest Kimberley, eastern
Pilbara, southern and western Interior, Eucla, eastern and northern Goldfields,
northeast Gascoyne and eastern South East Coastal district. Thunderstorms
possibly severe over the South Interior, eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers
or drizzle over the remaining South West Land Division, remaining Gascoyne and
remaining Goldfields. Cool over western Gascoyne and western parts of the South
West Land Division. Windy about the southwest coast and south coast of the
South West Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 31 March
Showers and possible thunderstorms over southern North Interior, South
Interior, far eastern Goldfields and eastern Eucla. Thunderstorms possibly
severe over the South Interior, adjacent North Interior and eastern Eucla.
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over eastern Pilbara and Kimberley west
coast. Light showers and drizzle over the South West Land Division and about
the Gascoyne coast, contracting to the south coast in the evening. Possible
morning fog over inland South West Land Division. Cool over western Gascoyne,
and northern and central parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times
along the south coast.
Forecast for Wednesday 1 April
Showers and possible thunderstorms over far northeast Gascoyne, eastern
Pilbara, central Interior and far northern parts of the Goldfields. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over southwest Kimberley. Light showers and drizzle
about the southern districts of the South West Land Division. Possible morning
fog over the inland South West Land Division.
Forecast for Thursday 2 April
Showers and possible gusty thunderstorms over eastern Gascoyne, much of the
Goldfields, western parts of South Interior and eastern parts of the Central
Wheat Belt. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over northeast Kimberley and
central Pilbara. Light showers and drizzle about the southern districts of the
South West Land Division. Possible morning fog over southern parts of the South
West Land Division. Windy at times over the southern districts in the afternoon
and evening.
Forecast for Friday 3 April
Showers and possible gusty thunderstorms over eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields,
adjacent South Interior, western Eucla and South West Land Division. Chance of
a shower or thunderstorm over central southern Pilbara, and west and north
Kimberley. Windy at times in the morning across the southern and eastern parts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Tuesday.
