Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle is expected to redevelop into a tropical cyclone
tonight off the west Kimberley coast, and then intensify over waters north of
the Pilbara on Wednesday and Thursday as it travels offshore parallel to the
coast. On Friday, the system will move near the Northwest Capes and curve
southwards towards the west coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over inland Gascoyne will move to the coast on Wednesday and shift
offshore on Thursday before deepening, as a ridge strengthens over central and
southern WA. Meanwhile, a cloud band extends over southeastern parts of the
state and is slowly moving east. Towards the weekend, Ex-Tropical Cyclone
Narelle will most likely approach the west coast from the north.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 24 March
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls
possible in the north and west. Damaging wind gusts possible about the
Kimberley west coast. Showers and thunderstorms for the east Pilbara, and
northern and central Interior. Showers and the chance of a thunderstorm over
the far southeast Gascoyne, southern and central Goldfields, western Eucla and
eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy across the Kimberley,
eastern Pilbara and North Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 25 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, most of the
Interior, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and across the northern and
eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Heavy falls possible about
southwest Kimberley coast and adjacent Pilbara coast. Damaging wind gusts
possible about the Kimberley southwest coast and adjacent Pilbara coast. Windy
over the western Kimberley, much of the Pilbara, northwest Interior and Eucla.
Forecast for Thursday 26 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, western Interior,
Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and Central West. Heavy falls possible about the
Pilbara coast, Central West, southern Gascoyne and northern parts of the
Goldfields. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the remaining northern and
western parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of a light shower along
the south coast. Windy over the far southwest Kimberley Pilbara, Gascoyne and
over much of the southern parts of the State.

Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the western Kimberley, western and
northern Pilbara, Gascoyne, and northern and central parts of the South West
Land Division. Heavy falls possible about western Pilbara coast, western
Gascoyne and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers about the
remaining southern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy south of the
Kimberley.
Forecast for Saturday 28 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the western Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
and northern and central parts of the South West Land Division. Heavy falls
possible about western Pilbara coast, western Gascoyne and northern parts of
the South West Land Division. Showers about the remaining southern parts of the
South West Land Division, western Goldfields and western Interior. Windy over
central and southern parts of the state.
