Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle will continue over the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf,
approaching the northeast Kimberley as a deep tropical low today. The system
may strengthen over water, but will most likely traverse the northern Kimberley
as a tropical low, then develop over waters north of the Pilbara by mid-week. A
trough remains over the west Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough through the inland South West Land Division shifts northward. A ridge
about the southwest builds east along the south coast and will strengthen and
move into central and southeastern parts from mid-week.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 23 March
Rain and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls and damaging
winds possible in the north. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the
western Pilbara, northern North Interior and northeast Central Wheat Belt.
Showers over the south eastern parts of the South West Land Division, far
southern Goldfields and far west Eucla. Cool over southern parts of the South
West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Windy across the Kimberley and
northern parts of the North Interior.

Forecast for Tuesday 24 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls and
damaging wind gusts possible in the northwest. Showers and thunderstorms for
the east Pilbara and northern and central Interior. Showers and the chance of a
thunderstorm over the far southeast Gascoyne, southern and central Goldfields,
western Eucla and eastern and central parts of the South West Land Division.
Windy across the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara and North Interior.

Forecast for Wednesday 25 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, most of the
Interior, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm over much of the South West Land Division, away from southwestern
parts. Windy over the western Kimberley, much of the Pilbara and northwest
Interior.

Forecast for Thursday 26 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, western Interior,
Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and northern Central West district. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over the remaining northern and western parts of the
South West Land Division. Chance of a light shower along the south coast. Windy
over the Pilbara, Gascoyne and over much of the southern parts of the State.

Forecast for Friday 27 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, and much of the South West Land Division, away from southeast parts.
Chance of a light shower about the remaining south coast. Windy over much of
the State, apart from the eastern Pilbara and Kimberley.
