Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extending from the northern Kimberley to the Pilbara coast will
persist until the end of the week. A deep tropical low may approach the
northeast Kimberley early next week from the Northern Territory.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge over central and southeastern parts of the state will slowly weaken
over the weekend. A west coast trough will move inland later Saturday, ahead of
a weak cold front brushing past the south coast on Sunday. A new ridge arrives
on the southwest coast on Sunday, building east along the south coast on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 19 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern parts of the North
Interior and northeastern Pilbara. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm south of
a line Bunbury and Bremer Bay. Chance of a light shower over the eastern Eucla,
Lower West and Great Southern districts. Very hot over much of the South West
Land Division away from the southwest coast.
Forecast for Friday 20 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior and most of the
Pilbara. Light showers south of a line Margaret River to Ravensthorpe, mostly
in the morning. Possible morning fog over the southern Eucla and South East
Coastal districts. Very hot over much of the South West Land Division away from
the south coast.
Forecast for Saturday 21 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over the remainder of the Kimberley, northwestern parts
of the North Interior and near the NT border, and northern and western Pilbara,
and inland northern parts of the Gascoyne. Chance of a shower south of a line
Cape Leeuwin to Bremer Bay. Very hot over the South West Land Division away
from the west and southwest coasts.
Forecast for Sunday 22 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over western Pilbara, inland northern Gascoyne and
inland northern parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of a shower over
the northeast Pilbara, and northern and eastern Interior. Showers over the
southern districts of the South West Land Division. Hot over northern parts of
inland South West Land Division, milder across the southern parts. Windy about
the west coast.
Forecast for Monday 23 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with possible heavy falls across
northern Kimberley. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the western Pilbara
and inland Gascoyne. Showers over southern and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division, and southern Goldfields. Cool over southern parts of the South
West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Windy across the Kimberley and
northern parts of the North Interior, possibly very windy along the north coast
dependent on movement and development of tropical low.
