Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Kimberley along the Pilbara coast for the remainder
of the week, with a low deepening over the far western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A slow moving ridge persists south of the State, with a stagnant west coast
trough pushing offshore today and lingering about the west coast through to the
weekend. A weak cold front will pass the far southwest corner early Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 17 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northeast Interior. Possible
heavy falls over the far east Kimberley. Chance of showers and thunderstorms
over the central and eastern Pilbara. Light showers and drizzle over the
eastern Goldfields, eastern South East Coastal, Eucla, and southern parts of
the Interior, until early afternoon.
Forecast for Wednesday 18 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley and northeast North
Interior. Chance of a shower over the west Pilbara. Light showers and drizzle
over the eastern Eucla. Possible morning fog over the Eucla and far Southeast
Coastal district. Hot near the west coast. Windy in the morning across the
Gascoyne, Central West and along the Darling Scarp.
Forecast for Thursday 19 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern parts of the Interior
and the northeastern Pilbara. Chance of a shower over the eastern Eucla and
about the coastal South West district. Hot over much of the inland South West
Land Division.
Forecast for Friday 20 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior and central and
eastern Pilbara. Light showers over the southern South West, South Coastal, and
adjacent parts of the Great Southern districts, mostly in the morning. Hot over
much of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 21 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northern and western Pilbara.
Chance of a shower about the coast between Augusta and Albany.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Wednesday.
