Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough is moving north across the Pilbara and Interior as a ridge forces
southeasterly flow in its wake. The trough will push further north into the
southern Kimberley and extend down the Pilbara coast on Friday and into the
weekend. A tropical low, currently in the Northern Territory, may move into the
Kimberley from Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong ridge extends over southern WA and will persist until the end of the
week. A weak west coast trough has begun developing, remaining in place through
to early next week.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 12 March
Showers and possible thunderstorms over the southern South Interior and Eucla
with moderate falls possible, gradually easing. Showers and thunderstorms over
most of the Kimberley. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the central and
eastern Pilbara and some remaining parts of the Interior. Showers over southern
parts of the South West Land Division and southern and eastern Goldfields.
Windy over most of the southern parts of the State.
Forecast for Friday 13 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, southern South Interior, Eucla
and southern Goldfields. Heavy falls possible over the north and east
Kimberley. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the inland central and
eastern Pilbara, southeast Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and Interior. Showers
over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy in the morning over
the Gascoyne and central Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 14 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, northeastern Pilbara,
eastern Gascoyne, northern and eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Heavy falls
possible over the north and central Kimberley, northeast North Interior and
northern Goldfields. Showers over southern parts of the South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Sunday 15 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, eastern Pilbara,
northern and eastern Goldfields and Eucla, Heavy falls possible over the north
and east Kimberley and northeast North Interior. Chance of showers and
thunderstorms over the inland Gascoyne and central Pilbara. Showers over
southern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Monday 16 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northeast parts of the
Interior. Moderate to heavy falls possible over the Kimberley and northeast
Interior. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the central and eastern
Pilbara. Chance of showers over southern coastal districts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Friday.
