Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A tropical low has moved offshore of the western Kimberley, now continuing
westwards. Over the weekend, the tropical low will likely develop into a
tropical cyclone as it moves west-southwest, most likely staying offshore
parallel to the Pilbara coast until later Sunday into Monday when it may make
landfall over the west Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A west coast trough is deepening while a ridge persists over the southern
districts. The trough departs eastwards from Monday, moving over southwestern
parts. A tropical low may move into the northwest Gascoyne on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 6 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, Interior, and far northeast Gascoyne. Isolated heavy falls possible
near the west Kimberley coast. Very hot over the Central West, Gascoyne,
western Pilbara, northern Goldfields and northern inland parts of the Lower
West. Windy over the western Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Eucla and Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 7 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
central Interior and northern Gascoyne. Possible heavy falls about the Pilbara
coast. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over the
remaining Gascoyne, far northern Goldfields, Eucla and northwestern parts of
the South West Land Division. Very hot over the Central West, western Gascoyne,
southwest Pilbara and northern inland parts of the Lower West. Very windy
conditions possible along the Pilbara coast. Windy at times over the Gascoyne
and Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 8 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
central Interior, northern Goldfields and northern Gascoyne. Possible heavy
falls through the western Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over the southern Gascoyne, far
northern parts of the South West Land Division and over the Eucla. Very hot
over the western Gascoyne, Central West, northwest Central Wheat Belt and
northern inland parts of the Lower West. Very windy conditions possible over
the Pilbara coast. Windy across the inland Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and Eucla.
Forecast for Monday 9 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
central Interior, northern Goldfields, Gascoyne and northern parts of the
Central West district. Possible heavy falls over the western Pilbara and
Gascoyne. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over
southern parts of the Central West, the Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern and
far northern parts of the Southeast Coastal district. Very hot over inland
parts of the South West Land Division. Very windy conditions possible over the
western Pilbara and Gascoyne. Windy elsewhere over the inland Pilbara and Eucla.
Forecast for Tuesday 10 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior,
Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and northern parts of the South West Land Division.
Moderate to heavy falls possible over the southern Gascoyne, Goldfields and far
eastern parts of the Central Wheat Belt. Chance of a shower over remaining
central and southern parts of the South West Land Division, with areas of rain
possible in the South East Coastal district. Windy over the southern Gascoyne,
Goldfields and Eucla.
