Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough about the western Pilbara coast develops and extends through the
Kimberley from Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Luana is located over the South Interior and will continue
to decay and weaken. A ridge lies to the south of the state, with a trough
deepening down the west coast during the week and into the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 28 January
Heavy rain and thunderstorms over the southern Interior, far eastern Goldfields
and Eucla. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara,
North Interior and northeast Gascoyne. Windy through the Interior, Goldfields
and Eucla, and in the Gascoyne.
Forecast for Thursday 29 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, northern
and eastern Interior, Eucla, Gascoyne and northern parts of the Central West.
Showers over the eastern Goldfields. Very hot over northern parts of the
Central West and the inland western Gascoyne. Windy at times over central and
southern parts of the State.
Forecast for Friday 30 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior,
northeast Gascoyne, and parts of the Eucla district. Very hot over northwestern
parts of the South West Land Division and the inland western Gascoyne. Windy at
times over central and southern parts of the State.
Forecast for Saturday 31 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
central Interior, northeast Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields. Light showers
along the south coast and through the Eucla district. Very hot over
northwestern parts of the South West Land Division, and western parts of the
Gascoyne and Pilbara. Windy over central and southern parts of the State.
Forecast for Sunday 1 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
central Interior, and northern Gascoyne. Light showers along the south coast
east of Albany and through the Eucla district. Very hot over northwestern parts
of the South West Land Division, and western parts of the Gascoyne and Pilbara.
Apart from the Kimberley, windy at times over much of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Thursday.
