Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over northern parts of the state and will persist into next
week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A west coast trough is deepening as a ridge over the southeast of the state
moves away. The trough will move inland on Friday ahead of a weak cold front
brushing past the south coast on Saturday. A new ridge will develop about
southwest WA on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 14 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northwest Interior,
Pilbara, and northeast Gascoyne. Light shower possible about the south coast.
Very hot over the southern and eastern Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne,
northern and central Interior, and inland Central West. Windy at times over
central and southern WA.
Forecast for Thursday 15 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and inland northern parts of the South West
Land Division. Light showers possible along the south coast east of Albany,
contracting to the Eucla coast in the afternoon and clearing by evening Very
hot over the southern and eastern Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern
and central Interior, Central West and Lower West districts. Windy over the
Eucla and Interior during the day, and across southwest WA in the morning.

Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, western Goldfields, and much of the central and eastern South
West Land Division.Very hot over the southern and eastern Kimberley, northern
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and inland parts of the South West land
Division. Windy at times over the Interior and Eucla.
Forecast for Saturday 17 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, and eastern and southern parts
of the South West Land Division. Very hot over the southern and eastern
Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara, and northern Gascoyne. Windy at times
over the Interior, Goldfields, and Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 18 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara and northeast Gascoyne.Very hot over the southern and eastern
Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields.
Light showers about the coast east of Esperance. Windy at times over the
southern Interior, Goldfields, and Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Thursday.
