Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over northern parts of the state. A southerly wind change
will extend over the far west Pilbara from to time due to a ridge to the south
or southwest.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge lies over southeastern WA with a trough and associated low
pressure centre deepen down the west coast. The west coast trough and
associated low pressure centre will move inland on Monday, followed by a new
high pressure system developing south of the Bight on Tuesday. The west coast
trough will make a quick return from Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 11 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, much of
the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and northern parts of the South West Land
Division. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, inland and western parts of the
Pilbara, inland western Gascoyne, northern Interior and Central West. Becoming
windy over the western Gascoyne and southwest Pilbara this afternoon and
evening.
Forecast for Monday 12 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, far western Eucla, and across
much of the South West Land Division. Very hot over the far southern and
eastern Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern
Interior and inland northern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at
times over southern WA.
Forecast for Tuesday 13 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara, eastern
Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Showers possible over the southern parts of the South West Land Division. Very
hot over the southern and eastern Kimberley, inland and western parts of the
Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Interior and northeastern Goldfields. Windy at times
over south coastal districts, southeast Goldfields and far southern Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 14 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most of the Interior,
Pilbara, inland northern and the eastern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, and far
northern Central Wheat Belt. Showers possible over the southern districts and
far southern Goldfields, mostly in the morning. Very hot over the southern and
eastern Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern and central Interior, and
inland Central West. Windy over central and southern WA
Forecast for Thursday 15 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and western North
Interior, Pilbara, Gascoyne, far western Goldfields, and much of the South West
Land Division. Very hot over the southern and eastern Kimberley, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, northern and central Interior, and inland Central West and
Lower West districts. Windy over central and southern WA.
