Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends through the Pilbara and Interior. A brief southeast wind
change will push the trough from the Interior to the southeast Kimberley over
the weekend, before sinking back south early next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge building over southern WA is pushing a trough through the Interior
further north. The ridge will move east later Saturday, allowing a trough and
associated low pressure system to deepen down the west coast. The west coast
trough and associated low pressure system will move inland on Monday, followed
by a new high high pressure system developing through the Bight on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 9 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara, far
northeast Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields. Light showers possible about
the south coast. Very hot over the southeast Kimberley, inland Pilbara,
northern Goldfields, northern Gascoyne, northern and central Interior. Windy at
times through the Eucla, southern Interior, Great Southern, eastern Goldfields,
western Gascoyne and southwest Pilbara.
Forecast for Saturday 10 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, central
and eastern Pilbara and northeast Gascoyne, mostly in the afternoon and
evening. Chance of thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the northern
Central Wheat Belt, southeast Gascoyne and central Goldfields. Light showers
possible over southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and Eucla. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, western Pilbara,
northern inland Gascoyne, northern Central West and northern Interior. Windy
over central and southern parts of the state throughout the day, about
southwest Pilbara during the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Sunday 11 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, western Goldfields and northern parts of
the South West Land Division, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Very hot
over the southern Kimberley, most inland parts of the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne,
northern Interior and Central West. Windy over central and southern parts of
the state in the morning.
Forecast for Monday 12 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, and across the South West Land
Division south of Geraldton. Very hot over the southern and eastern Kimberley,
most parts of the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern Interior and inland
northern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times over southern WA.
Forecast for Tuesday 13 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, northeast Central Wheat Belt,
South Coastal and South East Coastal districts. Showers possible over the Great
Southern and South West districts. Very hot over the southern and eastern
Kimberley, inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Interior and northern Goldfields.
Windy at times over south coastal districts and southeast Goldfields.
