Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Hayley is located over the eastern Kimberley, continuing to
weaken as it moves eastwards. A trough persists over the Kimberley until
Friday. Another trough remains over the Pilbara for the outlook, extending over
the North Interior from Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high in the Bight directs a southeast to northeasterly airstream over
southern and central parts. A trough extends along western parts, transitioning
into the Goldfields by the weekend. Another ridge develops in the wake of the
trough.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 1 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Interior, and the far northeast Central West. Possible heavy falls with
thunderstorms over the eastern Kimberley. Chance of a thunderstorm over the far
southwest inland parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times over the
Eucla. Very hot over the Pilbara, west Gascoyne and inland northern South West
Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 2 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne,
northern Goldfields, Interior, and Eucla. Very hot over the western Pilbara,
western Gascoyne and inland northern South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 3 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most of the Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne, far northern Goldfields, and North Interior. Very hot over
the western Pilbara, western Gascoyne, and inland northern South West Land
Division.

Forecast for Sunday 4 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara,
most parts of the Gascoyne, and inland northern Central West District. Very hot
over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, much of the inland South West
Land Division, and Goldfields.

Forecast for Monday 5 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far North Interior,
Pilbara, Gascoyne, western and southern Goldfields, and northern and inland
eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of a late light shower
about the western south coast. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, much of the inland South West Land Division, Goldfields and inland
Eucla.
