Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure will persist and deepen over inland areas in the
north this week and during the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge extends across the southwest coast will extend along southern WA on
Thursday. A west coast trough will form early on Friday and move inland during
the day ahead of a weak front passing to the south of the state. Another ridge
will develop across the southwest on Saturday and push into central parts on
Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 17 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and far western
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla, and far eastern
parts of the South West Land Division. Light showers about the southern
districts of the South West Land Division. Milder temperatures for the South
West Land Division and far southwest Goldfields. Very hot through the eastern
Goldfields, Eucla, adjacent southern Interior, and west Pilbara. Windy at times
across the southern coastal districts.
Forecast for Thursday 18 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far North Interior, far
southwest Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northwest Goldfields, far western Interior,
Light showers about the southern districts of the South West Land Division.
Very hot through the west Pilbara. Windy at times over southern WA.
Forecast for Friday 19 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior, east and
south Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla, and northern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division. Light showers about the southern
districts of the South West Land Division, east of Albany. Very hot through the
west Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and inland northern parts of Central West
district. Windy at times over southern and central WA.
Forecast for Saturday 20 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Light showers about the remaining southern districts of the South West Land
Division. Very hot through the west Pilbara. Windy at times over southern and
central WA.
Forecast for Sunday 21 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, most of the
Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and inland northern parts of the
South West Land Division. Windy at times over central central WA.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Thursday.
