Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure will persist across inland areas. A ridge to the
south will bring a brief southeasterly wind change to the North Interior and
Pilbara on Sunday, pushing the trough closer to the coast before moving back
inland next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure sits across southern WA, with a weak cold front
sweeping the eastern south coast and pushing an inland trough northwards on
Saturday. A new trough develops through inland parts of the South West Land
Division on Sunday and move eastwards on Monday. The next high pressure system
moves over the state early next week.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 5 December
Possible showers and gusty thunderstorms over the eastern Goldfields, Eucla and
southern Interior. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm near the north Kimberley
coast. Light showers possible south of a line from Harvey to Israelite Bay.
Very hot through the inland Eucla, Interior, Pilbara and Kimberley. Windy
through the Eucla, Goldfields, Gascoyne and South Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 6 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon, over most of the
Kimberley. Chance of a gusty shower or thunderstorm over the Interior. Cloudy
over southern districts in the morning with light showers possible along the
south coast. Very hot through the North Interior, Pilbara and Kimberley. Windy
through the Eucla and Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 7 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and eastern Interior, most
widespread over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a late shower about the
far southwest coast. Chance of morning fog over southern parts of the South
West Land Division. Very hot through the North Interior, Pilbara and inland
Kimberley. Windy through the North Interior and inland Pilbara in the morning
and near the Gascoyne and Pilbara coasts in the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Monday 8 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and North Interior, most
widespread over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over the eastern Gascoyne, far northern
Goldfields and western Interior. Light showers possible south of a line from
Harvey to Israelite Bay. Very hot through the Interior, Pilbara, inland
Kimberley and Gascoyne. Windy through southern and western districts in the
afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 9 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Goldfields, inland
Pilbara and Gascoyne, eastern South West Land Division and Eucla. Windy at
times over much of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Saturday.
