Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough in the Kimberley moves east into the NT on Monday. Another trough,
currently in the Interior, extends through the Pilbara on Sunday then down the
west coast on Monday. The trough moves inland on Tuesday, with another broad
area of low pressure re-establishing over the Pilbara late Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge is building across the south of the state, with a trough developing
along the west coast on Monday. The trough moves inland on Tuesday ahead of a
cold front arriving on Wednesday. Another front brushes the far southwest
corner on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 26 October
Chance of showers southwest of a line from Lancelin to York to Albany, and east
along the coast to Eucla, clearing in the evening. Slight chance of a
thunderstorm over eastern parts of the Lower West, adjacent far northwest Great
Southern and far southwest Central Wheat Belt districts, as well as the
northeastern Central Wheat Belt in the afternoon. Possible showers and
thunderstorms over the the central and eastern Kimberley and eastern North
Interior.
Forecast for Monday 27 October
Light showers about the south coast east of Esperance, extending to adjacent
inland parts for a period in the morning, and mostly clearing in the afternoon.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the north and east Kimberley, and
southern South Interior. Possible morning frost in the eastern Great Southern,
inland parts of the South East Coastal and adjacent far southwestern
Goldfields. Patchy morning fog in inland southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Fresh and gusty winds, mostly in the morning, over the Interior.
Warmer over western districts.
Forecast for Tuesday 28 October
Light morning showers about the far east Eucla coast. Chance of showers and
thunderstorms through the northeast Kimberley. Chance of a shower about the
Central West coast in the evening. Fresh and gusty winds extending over much of
the State, excluding the Kimberley and Eucla. Warm to hot through southwestern
WA.
Forecast for Wednesday 29 October
Showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Ravensthorpe, mostly about the
Lower West and South West districts, clearing inland parts by evening. Chance
of a shower or thunderstorm over the central and eastern Eucla and far southern
South Interior. Showers and thunderstorms also possible about the north and
east Kimberley, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Fresh and gusty winds
extending over much of the State, excluding the Kimberley. Warm to hot through
southeastern WA.
Forecast for Thursday 30 October
Showers southwest of a line Lancelin to Bremer bay and about the Esperance
Coast, mostly clearing and becoming confined to coastal parts between Bunbury
to Walpole by the evening. Showers and thunderstorms possible about the north
and east Kimberley, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Windy at times over
southeastern parts.
