Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough extends across the Pilbara and Kimberley. The trough will move
further inland across the Pilbara on Friday to the Interior on the weekend as a
cloud band develops. A southerly change will extend across the Pilbara on
Sunday associated with the next ridge.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A west coast trough is deepening and will move inland on Friday ahead of a cold
front approaching from the west. The cold front will move across the southwest
on Saturday as a cloud band develops over central and southern WA. A ridge will
extend along the south coast on Sunday, but the cloud band may linger until
Monday or Tuesday due to a slow moving trough across inland southern WA.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 2 October
Chance of a shower or gusty thunderstorm over the far north Kimberley and far
east Kimberley. Areas of smoke haze in the southwest.
Forecast for Friday 3 October
Light showers developing about the South West and Lower West districts,
extending to south of a line Jurien Bay to Albany in the evening. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over northwest Gascoyne and southwest Pilbara in the
late afternoon and evening. Shower or gusty thunderstorm over the north and
east Kimberley, and eastern parts of Interior, mainly during the afternoon and
evening. Possible morning fog over the north and northwest Kimberley, South
West, South Coastal, western parts of the Great Southern, far southwest Pilbara
and far northwest Gascoyne. Warm to hot over eastern parts of the South West
Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla. Areas of smoke haze in the southwest in
the morning. Windy across the Gascoyne, parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla. Windy across the North Interior in the
morning.
Forecast for Saturday 4 October
Rain, showers and possible thunderstorms over the South West Land Division,
Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and western Pilbara. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm over northwest and central Kimberley. Possible morning fog over
west and southwest Kimberley, and South East Coastal. Hot over eastern parts of
the Goldfields, Interior and Eucla. Windy across the far eastern Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla during the day.
Forecast for Sunday 5 October
Showers over the South West Land Division. Showers and rain areas with chance
of a thunderstorm over the Gascoyne, western Pilbara, Goldfields, adjacent
southern Interior and Eucla. Hot over southeastern parts of the Interior.
Possible morning fog over far north Kimberley. Windy across the Interior and
Eucla during the day.
Forecast for Monday 6 October
Showers over the South West Land Division. Showers and rain areas with chance
of a thunderstorm over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla.
Possible morning fog over far north Kimberley. Windy across the North Interior
and eastern Pilbara.
