Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough moves east through inland districts associated with a cold front
moving across the Bight on Thursday. A ridge developing behind this trough will
bring a east to southeasterly surge through the Interior, Pilbara and Kimberley
over the weekend, and will dominate weather pattern into next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A series of weak fronts brush the far south until Friday. A ridge of high
pressure is developing about the central west coast, and slips south on Friday.
This ridge will dominate the weather pattern for the start of next week.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 17 September
Cloudy over the South West Land Division with showers southwest of a line from
Kalbarri to Israelite Bay. Mostly clear over the remainder of the state.

Forecast for Thursday 18 September
Light showers over western and southern coastal parts of the South West Land
Division, more likely about south coastal parts, and contracting to coastal
parts between Cape Naturalise and Albany in the afternoon. Chance of patchy
morning frost over the southwest Central Wheat Belt and central Great Southern
districts. Possible morning fog over the far north Kimberley and over inland
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 19 September
Light showers over central and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
retracting to the south coast in the afternoon. Patchy morning frost over the
southern and eastern Central Wheat Belt and adjacent parts of the Goldfields.
Possible morning fog over the western South West Land Division, Eucla and far
north Kimberley. Fresh and gusty morning over the west Pilbara and northwest
Gascoyne.

Forecast for Saturday 20 September
Light showers over south coastal districts, retracting to the coastal fringe by
early afternoon and clearing by evening. Chance of patchy morning frost in the
far southwest Goldfields and eastern Central Wheat Belt. Possible morning fog
over inland parts of the south coastal districts, the Great Southern district,
and far southern Goldfields. Warm over the western Gascoyne. Fresh and gusty
winds in the morning over the east Pilbara and the North Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 21 September
Light showers over the South East Coastal district and southern Eucla,
retracting to the coastal fringe during the morning and clearing early
afternoon. Possible morning fog over southern coastal districts and adjacent
southern Great Southern district. Slight chance of a shower in the far northern
Kimberley, most likely in the afternoon. Warm over the western Gascoyne and
western South West Land Division. Fresh and gusty winds in the morning over the
central and east Pilbara, far southern Kimberley and northern Interior.
