Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends through the North Interior to the southwest Kimberley. A ridge
will continue to strengthen through central parts of the state this week,
pushing the trough into the northern Kimberley on Wednesday, and seeing the
return of fresh southeasterly surges to northern WA.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extends over the west coast and into central WA, moving
slowly eastward as axis settles southward toward the south coast on Wednesday.
By Thursday the high pressure centre will be moving across the Eucla and into
the Bight. A cold front will approach the southwest of the state on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 9 September
Light showers over the southern coastal fringe. Further light showers and the
chance of a thunderstorm over northern and eastern parts of the Kimberley and
the northern North Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 10 September
Light showers over the South Coastal, South East Coastal, Eucla, and southern
Goldfields districts, contracting to the Eucla coast during the afternoon.
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the north Kimberley. Patchy morning
frost and possible fog over the inland southern South West Land Division and
adjacent parts of the Goldfields. Windy morning over the northern Gascoyne,
Pilbara, southern Kimberley and North Interior.
Forecast for Thursday 11 September
Light morning shower along the Eucla coast. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm
over the north Kimberley. Patchy morning frost and possible fog over southern
and central parts of the South West Land Division and southern Goldfields.
Possible morning fog also over the Eucla. Windy morning over the east Pilbara,
southern Kimberley and North Interior.
Forecast for Friday 12 September
Slight chance of a late evening shower over the southern Lower West and western
South West districts. Chance of a morning shower over the north and east
Kimberley. Warm over western parts of the state. Windy morning over the east
Pilbara, southwest Kimberley and North Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 13 September
Gusty showers over the South West Land Division. Showers extending over the
southern Gascoyne, Goldfields, and western Eucla districts in the evening. Warm
over the northwest through to the southeast of the state. Windy morning over
the northern North Interior and far southern Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
