Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough moves through the Pilbara today, continuing to the interior on
Saturday. Southeasterly winds push over the north from Monday as a new ridge
forms over the south of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front continues over the southwest into Saturday, with additional
troughs passing the far south of the state over the remainder of the weekend. A
new ridge forms over the south of the state for the start of next week.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 5 September
Showers over the South West Land Division and western Gascoyne, tending light
over the Goldfields, Eucla, South Interior and far west Pilbara. Chance of a
gusty thunderstorm over much of the western and central South West Land
Division. Windy about the Gascoyne and Northern Goldfields.
Forecast for Saturday 6 September
Showers southwest of a line from Onslow to Warburton, most widespread south of
Kalbarri to Leonora. The chance of gusty thunderstorms along the coast
extending from Kalbarri to Israelite Bay. Thunderstorms also possible over
southeast Gascoyne, eastern Great Southern, South East Coastal, much of the
Goldfields, and the eastern Eucla. Possible morning fog in the northwest
Kimberley. Windy over the Goldfields, and South Interior, increasing to very
windy about the south coast.
Forecast for Sunday 7 September
Showers over the the South West Land Division. Light showers also possible over
the southwestern Gascoyne, southern Goldfields, and Eucla. Possible small hail
over the South West, South Coastal, and adjacent Great Southern and South East
Coastal districts at night. Chance of snow flurries about higher peaks of the
Stirling Ranges overnight. Patchy morning fog in the northwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Monday 8 September
Light showers over the east Kimberley, North Interior, and south of Busselton
to Kalgoorlie to Eucla, increasing about the south coast. A possible
thunderstorm about the southeast Kimberley and in the North Interior. Possible
small hail about the south coast between Cape Leeuwin and Israelite Bay in the
early morning. Patchy morning frost over the Great Southern and southern
Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Tuesday 9 September
Light showers about the south coast, eastern Kimberley, and eastern parts of
the North Interior. Patchy morning frost about the inland South West Land
Division and adjacent parts of the Gascoyne and Goldfields. Windy morning over
the east Pilbara, southwest Kimberley, and North Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
