Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure system over southern WA is slowly moving east and is
directing fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds across much of the
north. A weak trough will form along the west Pilbara coast by Monday as the
high moves away, with winds easing and turning easterly. The trough will move
inland on Wednesday ahead of a cold front moving through southern WA.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system over southern WA is slowly moving east and will
exit the state on Sunday night. A west coast trough will form on Monday as a
weak cold front brushes past the southwest coast. A cloud band will develop
over central and southern WA on Tuesday, with the west coast trough moving
inland on Wednesday ahead of a second cold front.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 30 August
Chance of a light shower about the southwest coast and far northeast Kimberley
in the early evening. Winds easing over eastern Pilbara, southern Kimberley and
North Interior in the early evening.
Forecast for Sunday 31 August
Chance of a light shower south of a line Busselton to Albany, and about the
north Kimberley coast. The chance of morning fog over inland parts of the South
West Land Division. Areas of morning frosts over inland parts of the South West
Land Division, southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern Interior and western
Eucla. Windy over the Pilbara, southern Kimberley and North Interior.
Forecast for Monday 1 September
Light showers south of a line Harvey to Bremer Bay. The chance of morning fog
over inland parts of the South West Land Division and northwest Kimberley.
Areas of morning frosts over inland parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields and southern Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 2 September
Light showers south of a line Harvey to Bremer Bay. One or two showers
developing in the southwest Gascoyne and adjacent Central West in the afternoon
and evening. The chance of morning fog over inland parts of the South West Land
Division and far western Kimberley. The chance of morning frosts over inland
parts of the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields.
Forecast for Wednesday 3 September
Showers and areas of rain south of a line Exmouth to Eucla. The chance of
morning fog over southern parts of the South West Land Division, inland Eucla,
northwest Gascoyne and southwest Pilbara. Windy at times over central and
southern parts of the state.
