Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over inland Pilbara will move into the Interior and dissipate on
Friday. A weak ridge over central and southern WA will quickly move east on
Friday, ahead of a new trough forming over western Pilbara by Saturday.
Associated patchy cloud band will thicken from Friday and will bring unseasonal
rain to much of the Pilbara and parts of the Interior over the weekend, easing
on Monday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge over southern and central WA will move east on Friday ahead of a
trough forming near the west coast by Saturday. Meanwhile, a patchy cloud band
over central WA will deepen on Friday night and extend over southern WA on
Saturday. The west coast trough will move inland on Saturday, ahead of a cold
front moving through the South West Land Division and Gascoyne on Sunday. The
cold front will move to the Goldfields and Interior on Monday maintaining a
cold, showery and windy airstream over southwest WA early next week.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 21 August
Light showers and drizzle over the South West Land Division, contracting to the
coast in the evening. Showers continuing over northern Gascoyne, western
Pilbara and South Interior, but clearing over eastern Eucla and far eastern
Goldfields in the evening.

Forecast for Friday 22 August
Light showers and drizzle south of a line Lancelin to Hopetoun. Showers over
southern and western Pilbara, northern Gascoyne, far northern Goldfields, and
South Interior, becoming more frequent over the western Pilbara from the
afternoon. Morning fog over the Eucla, southern Interior and far west
Kimberley. Chance of morning fog and frosts over inland parts of the South West
Land Division and southern Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 23 August
Rain and chance of a thunderstorm over southern and western Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla, South Interior, Eucla and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division. Possible heavy falls over northern Gascoyne and western Pilbara.
Showers developing over the remainder of the South West Land Division, becoming
more frequent about the west coast late evening. Chance of morning fog over the
far west Kimberley, Lower West South West, Great Southern, southeast Eucla and
South Coastal. Windy at times through the North Interior, Gascoyne, far west
Pilbara and Eucla during the day.

Forecast for Sunday 24 August
Areas of rain, showers and isolated gusty thunderstorms over much of the
Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern and central Interior, Eucla and South
West Land Division. Chance of morning fog over far west Kimberley. Isolated
heavy falls possible about the west coast and Darling scarp. Small hail
possible south of a line Harvey to Denmark. Windy south of the Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 25 August
Showers over the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, South Interior, southwestern
parts of North Interior, Eucla and South West Land Division. Isolated gusty
thunderstorms over the southern and western districts of the South West Land
Division. Isolated heavy falls possible about the west coast and southwest
coast. Small hail possible across much of the South West Land Division. Light
snow flurries possible over the higher peaks of the Stirlings Range. Cool to
cold over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne and southwest
Goldfields. Windy south of the Kimberley.
