Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the north of the state. A cloud band is thickening
across the far northeast Pilbara, southern Kimberley and North Interior. The
cloud band will likely bring unseasonal rain, with potentially isolated heavy
falls, clearing during Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extends east over the Midwest coast, but drifts south on
Monday as a high pressure system moves south of the State, reaching the Bight
on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 25 May
Chance of a shower, mostly about the south and Central West coasts. Rain
increasing across the southwestern Kimberley, northeast Pilbara, and North
Interior. Possible thunderstorms over the far southwest Kimberley and northeast
Pilbara.
Forecast for Monday 26 May
Possible showers over the southern coastal districts, adjacent Goldfields and
Great Southern. Areas of rain and possible thunderstorms over the Kimberley,
northeast Pilbara, and northern Interior. Heavy falls possible over the
southern Kimberley, far northeast Pilbara and North Interior. Morning frost
possible over inland parts of the South West Land Division and southwest
Goldfields. Cool over the southwest Kimberley and eastern Pilbara.
Forecast for Tuesday 27 May
Chance of a shower over the southern coastal districts. Areas of rain over the
Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, far northeast Gascoyne and northern and
central Interior. Possible thunderstorms over the Kimberley and central and
east Pilbara coast. Heavy falls possible over the southern Kimberley and North
Interior. Morning frost possible over inland parts of South West, northern
Great Southern, eastern Central Wheat Belt and southwest Goldfields districts.
Cool over southern and western Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, northern and central
Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 28 May
Showers over the Kimberley and Interior. Chance of showers over the far west
Pilbara and Gascoyne coasts, the far northwest Central West coast and Eucla
coast. Morning frost possible over inland parts of South West, northern Great
Southern and southwest Goldfields districts.
Forecast for Thursday 29 May
Showers over the western part of the State. Chance of a shower over the north
and east Kimberley and Eucla coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
