Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies near the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts with a ridge over the
North Interior. A new ridge will extend over southern WA today, reaching the
southern Pilbara and North Interior on Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough is moving inland over southeastern WA, ahead of a cold front and an
associated low pressure system over southern parts of the State. The low will
continue to move east over southern waters today as a ridge rapidly extends
over the South West Land Division. The ridge will persist for the remainder of
the week, with a broad trough forming near the west coast on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 24 April
Showers throughout the South West Land Division, more likely over far southern
parts and about the west coast, easing from the west during the day. Chance of
thunderstorms about the south coast. Showers also over the Goldfields, Eucla
and southern South Interior, with the chance of showers over the Gascoyne and
western Pilbara. Milder over the southwest of the State. Very windy about the
south coast, easing from the west during the day.
Forecast for Friday 25 April
Showers possible over southern districts, extending into southern parts of the
Great Southern, Goldfields and South Interior. Possible morning fog over inland
areas southwest of Mandurah to Albany. Windy over the Eucla, Pilbara, Interior
and Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 26 April
Light showers near the south coast, possibly extending into the southern
Goldfields and Eucla. Chance of morning fog over southern coastal districts.
Windy over the Pilbara, northern Gascoyne, North Interior and southern
Kimberley.
Forecast for Sunday 27 April
Light showers near the south coast. Chance of morning fog over the Great
Southern. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the western Pilbara. Chance
of a shower for the northern Gascoyne, South Interior, Eucla and Goldfields.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
