Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A tropical low 29U is moving to the north of the Kimberley. It is forecast to
develop into a tropical cyclone later on Monday, as it tracks west to southwest
over the weekend and into the new week. Heavy falls are possible about the
northwest coastal Kimberley, but will depend on how close the system moves to
the coast. Meanwhile, a trough lies slow moving over the western Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough lies over the inland Gascoyne and into the Goldfields. A branch of the
trough extends back over southwest parts of the South West Land Division. The
troughs move east on Monday. Associated cloud band and low pressure system will
bring moderate to heavy rainfall to much of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields and southern Gascoyne until Monday, before weakening and moving east
during Monday. A high pressure ridge will lie near the south coast on Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 13 April
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the South West Land Division,
southwest Goldfields, southern and western Gascoyne, and northern Kimberley.
Heavy falls possible over southern and eastern parts of the South West Land
Division, southwest Goldfields and about the north coast of the Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 14 April
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over most of the South West Land
Division, much of the Goldfields, southern and central Gascoyne, western Eucla
and northern and central Kimberley. Heavy falls possible over eastern parts of
the South West Land Division, southwest Goldfields, and about the north and
northwest coasts of the Kimberley. Windy at times over southern and eastern
parts.

Forecast for Tuesday 15 April
Light showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern and
eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Chance of early morning thunderstorms over the
Eucla and southeast Goldfields. Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and
central Kimberley. Heavy falls possible about the northwest coast of the
Kimberley, dependent on development and movement of the tropical low. Chance of
morning fog over the southern South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and
inland Central West district.

Forecast for Wednesday 16 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the far north and northwest Kimberley.
Possible showers and thunderstorms over eastern parts of the South West Land
division, southwest Goldfields and western Eucla. Chance of morning fog over
the inland southern coastal districts.

Forecast for Thursday 17 April
Showers over eastern and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, Eucla. Possible shower over the Pilbara. Chance of thunderstorms
over the far southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, northwest Eucla and north and
northwest Kimberley coasts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
