Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough located near the Pilbara coast extends to the Kimberley. A weak
tropical low may form well offshore from the northwest coast later in the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system in the Bight is moving east. A west coast trough
will move inland later on Tuesday, ahead of a weak cold front brushing past the
southwest coast on Tuesday night and along the south coast on Wednesday. A new
ridge will develop along the southwest coast on Wednesday and extend eastwards
later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 17 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over northern and western parts of the
Kimberley, northern and western Pilbara, northwest Gascoyne, and eastern and
northern parts of the Interior. Windy at times over the central Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 18 March
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern
Gascoyne, Interior and adjacent Goldfields. Very hot through northwest Gascoyne
and western Pilbara. Windy in the morning in the northern Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 19 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, and
Interior. Showers over the southeast Goldfields, and southern districts.
Forecast for Thursday 20 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne,
Interior and northern Goldfields. Light showers over the Goldfields, Eucla and
South East Coastal district. Windy in the morning over southern Interior.
Forecast for Friday 21 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne,
Interior and northern Goldfields.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
