Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the area. A strong high pressure ridge will develop to
the south from Sunday pushing the trough towards the Pilbara coast and bringing
fresh southeasterly winds to the Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extending south from the Gascoyne through central parts of the South
West Land Division and to the south coast will continue to move east over the
next couple of days. Another broad trough then forms over western parts of the
State, moving east from Friday as a strengthening high pressure ridge develops
from the west.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 13 March
Showers across most of WA with gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern
and western Interior, central and eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, most parts
of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, and far western Eucla districts.
Moderate to heavy rainfall possible with thunderstorms over southwest and
inland central parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over the eastern
Interior and eastern Eucla.
Forecast for Friday 14 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, central and eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, southern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, and western and central
Eucla. Moderate to heavy rainfall possible with thunderstorms over southern
districts. Very hot over the eastern Interior and eastern Eucla.
Forecast for Saturday 15 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, most parts of the
Pilbara apart from the far west, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and
Southeast Coastal district. Showers over the remaining southern districts of
the South West Land Division. Very hot over the Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 16 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north Interior, Pilbara, and
northern Gascoyne. Possible showers, mostly in the morning, over southern
districts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields, Eucla and
southern parts of the South Interior. Windy over most of the state apart from
the Kimberley and adjacent North Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
