Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough over the central Pilbara extends to a Tropical Low
18U forming offshore from the northwest Kimberley coast. The Tropical Low 18U
is forecast to move southwest and potentially develop into a Tropical Cyclone
on Wednesday. The system is then forecast to move further towards the Pilbara
coast but be slow moving on Thursday and Friday while strengthening further.
There is a range of scenarios on the intensity and where the system may track
by landfall.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extending from the central parts of the state and into the Eucla will
be slowly pushed eastwards today and Wednesday as a ridge strengthens over
western parts of the State and a cold front brushes along the south coast. The
ridge will continue to extend east and contract south of the state on Thursday
and Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 11 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east and central Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne, Interior, north and east Goldfields, and Eucla.
Becoming windy in the north and west Kimberley and possibly the far east
coastal Pilbara, with showers most likely widespread and moderate to heavy
falls possible. Showers southwest of a line from Geraldton to Bremer Bay,
though more likely from Perth to Albany, contracting to southern coastal
districts in the afternoon. Possible showers extending east towards Esperance
during the afternoon. Very hot over the west Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, north
and east Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla.

Forecast for Wednesday 12 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east and central Pilbara,
far northeast Gascoyne, and Interior. Windy in the southwest Kimberley and
northeast Pilbara, with showers most likely widespread and moderate to heavy
falls possible. Showers about southern districts of the South West Land
Division. Milder temperatures over the west Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, north
and east Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla. Windy over northwestern parts of
the state.

Forecast for Thursday 13 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, and central and
north Interior. Windy in the east Pilbara and possibly far southwest Kimberley,
with showers most likely widespread and moderate to heavy falls possible. Light
showers about southern coastal districts. Windy over central parts of the state.

Forecast for Friday 14 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, far northern
Gascoyne and central and north Interior. Windy in the east and possible central
Pilbara, with showers most likely widespread and moderate to heavy falls
possible. Possible showers about coastal parts of the South East Coastal
District and Eucla. Windy over central parts of the state.
