Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the North Interior and extends along the Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies south of the state while a trough extends down the west coast. A
high will form in the Bight on Thursday with the trough moving inland during
Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 29 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, Central West and northwest Central Wheat Belt. Very hot over the
Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern Interior, Central West, and Lower West. Windy over
the Interior, southern Gascoyne and Central West. Gusty over the Perth hills
during the early morning.
Forecast for Thursday 30 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northwest Interior and
Pilbara. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm over the Central West, Lower West and
far western Central Wheat Belt, mainly in the afternoon and evening. Very hot
over the southern Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara and Gascoyne, and over
inland parts of the South West Land Division. Windy over central and
southeastern parts of the State.
Forecast for Friday 31 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and northwest
Gascoyne. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm over inland parts of the South West
Land Division. Very hot over most parts of the State.
Forecast for Saturday 1 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and far northern
Gascoyne. Very hot over much of the State with a cooler change around the
southwest and south coasts. Possible light showers along the south coast west
of Israelite Bay.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
