Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over the Kimberley.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge south of the state is moving east. A trough near the west
coast will slowly move inland today, while the remnants of Ex-Tropical Cyclone
Sean will drift towards the far southwest of the State and dissipate on
Saturday. A new ridge will develop near the south coast on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 24 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, and northern
Interior. Isolated thunderstorms and possible light showers over inland
Gascoyne, South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and far western Eucla.
Very hot over the Gascoyne, South West Land Division away from the west and
southwest coastal fringe, Goldfields, Interior and southeast Kimberley. Windy
over southern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 25 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, and northeast Gascoyne. Possible light showers over southern
and western parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla. Very
hot over the Gascoyne, eastern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and southeast Kimberley. Windy over the Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 26 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara,
northeastern Gascoyne, and far northern Goldfields. Possible light showers over
the southern Goldfields, Eucla and southern and western districts of the South
West Land Division. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
and Interior, eastern Eucla and eastern Goldfields. Becoming windy over
southeastern and central parts later in the day.
Forecast for Monday 27 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara and
northern Gascoyne. Possible light showers over the eastern Goldfields, Eucla,
South Interior and southern coastal districts. Very hot over the southern
Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern Interior, and northern parts of Central
West. Windy over central and southern WA.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
