Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A low pressure trough extends from the West Pilbara Coast through the inland Pilbara and into the North Interior. A high pressure ridge lies over the southern parts of the state directs a surge of east to southeasterly winds northwards, moving the trough northwards on Wednesday, into the Kimberley on Thursday. The trough remains along the northwest coast from Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies across the south of the State, with a high pressure cell moving into the Bight on Wednesday as a trough develops inland from the west coast. The trough will start to move east during Thursday, with another broad trough to develop near the west coast on Friday and Saturday as a new ridge builds south of the State.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 6 November
Showers through southern coastal districts, with possible small hail east of Esperance. Showers and thunderstorms over the north Kimberley and along the NT border north of Giles.
Forecast for Wednesday 7 November
Possible morning frost through inland southern districts. Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley. Gusty east to southeasterly winds over the North Interior and Pilbara districts during the morning.
Forecast for Thursday 8 November
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far east Pilbara and western North Interior. Gusty easterly winds over northern inland districts.
Forecast for Friday 9 November
Showers and thunderstorms over the west Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne, possibly reaching adjacent parts of the northern Goldfields and western Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 10 November
Showers and thunderstorms over the west Kimberley, Gascoyne, southeast Pilbara, western South Interior and adjacent Goldfields.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
