Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern parts of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak high pressure ridge lies south of the state while another trough
develops over inland parts of the South West Land Division. The trough will
move east over central and eastern parts of the state on Friday and Saturday
ahead of a weak cold front brushing the western south coast Friday night.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 9 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara
apart from the far west, northeastern Gascoyne, far northeastern Goldfields and
Interior. Chance of a thunderstorm, with little or no rainfall, over the far
eastern South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Possible light
shower about the South East Coastal district in the morning. Very hot over the
far west Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Friday 10 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara
apart from the far west, northeastern Gascoyne, Interior, northeastern and
southern Goldfields, western Eucla and eastern South East Coastal District.
Possible light shower developing along the south coast west of Albany during
the evening. Very hot over the far west Pilbara, northwest Gascoyne, and inland
central and southeastern parts of the state.
Forecast for Saturday 11 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara apart
from the far west, far northeastern Gascoyne and Interior. Possible light
showers over southern coastal districts of the South West Land Division and
central parts of the Goldfields, mostly morning. Very hot over the far west
Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Sunday 12 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara apart
from the far west, far northeastern Gascoyne and north and central Interior.
Possible light shower developing about the western south coast in the evening.
Very hot over the far west Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
