Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern parts of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over inland parts of the South West Land Division will move east over
the Goldfields, Eucla and South Interior during today as a weak high pressure
ridge develops south of the state. Another trough then develops over inland
parts of the South West Land Division later today and Thursday, moving east
over central and eastern parts of the state on Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 8 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara
apart from the far west, northeastern Gascoyne, southern and eastern
Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and eastern South West Land Division. Very hot over
the north and eastern Goldfields and inland Eucla.
Forecast for Thursday 9 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, northeastern Gascoyne, far northeastern Goldfields and Interior.
Chance of a thunderstorm, with little or no rainfall, over the far eastern
South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Possible light showers near
the coast east of Esperance in the morning.
Forecast for Friday 10 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, northeastern Gascoyne, Interior, northern, eastern and southern
Goldfields, western Eucla and eastern South East Coastal District. Possible
light showers developing along the south coast west of Albany during the
evening.
Forecast for Saturday 11 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, far northeastern Gascoyne, Interior, and adjacent northeast Eucla.
Light showers over southern coastal districts of the South West Land Division,
contracting to the coast in the morning and clearing in the afternoon.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
