Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern parts of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough moving east through the South West Land Division will be located
over the Goldfields and western Eucla today as a new high pressure ridge
develops over southwest WA and a weak cold front brushes past the south coast.
The trough will be pushed northeast out of the state early Saturday as the high
pressure ridge continues to extend east south of the state.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 3 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, eastern parts of the South East Coastal and
Central Wheat Belt districts, and Eucla. Showers over remaining southern
districts. Milder temperatures over southern parts of the South West Land
Division and the west coastal fringe. Very hot over southeastern parts. Windy
in the morning over eastern parts and again over southeastern parts later in
the day.
Forecast for Saturday 4 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, most parts
of the Pilbara, north and east Gascoyne, South Interior, Goldfields, far
northeast of the Central Wheat Belt and South East Coastal districts, and
Eucla. Showers over southern districts east of Albany. Mild over southern parts
of the State. Becoming windy later in the day across Eucla, Goldfields and
South Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 5 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over most parts of the Kimberley, central and
eastern Pilbara, east Gascoyne, western and southern Interior, Goldfields, far
northeast and Eucla. Chance of a light shower about the south coast east of
Albany. Mild over southern parts of the state. Windy at times over southern and
central parts.
Forecast for Monday 6 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, east Gascoyne, Interior, north and east Goldfields, and eastern Eucla.
Mild over southeastern parts of the state. parts of the state. Windy over
southern and central parts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
