Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough extends from the Kimberley into the Pilbara. The western edge of
the trough will move east from today as a ridge builds to the south and brings
fresh southwesterly winds to western Pilbara at times.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies south of the state with a high pressure centre moving into Bight
waters and a trough developing from the Pilbara through the Gascoyne and into
the South West Land Division. The trough will deepen as it slowly moves east
today and tomorrow. A new ridge will rapidly build along the south coast on
Saturday with a new trough developing off the west coast on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 14 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, inland central
and eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of
the South West Land Division. Chance of a shower about the coast between
Walpole and Bremer Bay, extending to adjacent inland parts later in the day.
Hot to very hot across the southwest Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne,
northern and central parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Friday 15 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara, eastern
and northern inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and far eastern parts of the
South West Land Division. Showers over southern coastal districts of the South
West Land Division. Cooler in the southwest.
Forecast for Saturday 16 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, central and east
Pilbara, eastern and southern Gascoyne, far northern Goldfields, Eucla and
inland Central West district. Chance of an early morning shower along the south
coast. Cooler over southern half of the state.
Forecast for Sunday 17 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, central and east
Pilbara, eastern and southern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, inland Central
West and northeast Lower West districts. Slight chance of a shower over the
remaining South West Land Division. Windy about the west coast south of Shark
Bay and central parts of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
