Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A low pressure trough extends from the Kimberley and into the Pilbara. The
trough will be pushed towards the Pilbara coast today as a as a high pressure
ridge strengthens to the south, bringing gusty east to southeasterly winds to
parts of the Pilbara. The trough weakens and moves back inland from Tuesday,
with winds easing.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strengthening ridge lies south of the state with a high pressure centre
becoming established in Bight waters. A trough will develop down the west coast
today with the southern portion of the trough moving inland on Tuesday. Another
trough rapidly develops near the west coast on Thursday before moving inland on
Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 28 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the north and west Kimberley, north and
west Interior, eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields.
Windy over northern parts of the State apart from the Kimberley, and over
central and southeastern parts of the state. Hot to very hot over northern
parts, the west Gascoyne and northern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 29 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, north and western Interior, eastern Gascoyne, north and central
Goldfields and the inland northern South West Land Division. Windy over
northeastern and central parts of the State, mostly in the morning. Hot to very
hot over northern parts, the west Gascoyne and most parts of the South West
Land Division.
Forecast for Wednesday 30 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, most parts of the Interior, eastern Gascoyne, and north and central
Goldfields. Possible light shower about southern coastal parts. Windy in the
morning over northeastern parts of the state. Hot to very hot over northern
parts, the Gascoyne, Goldfields and most parts of the South West Land Division
away from the south coast.
Forecast for Thursday 31 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, east Pilbara and far
north North Interior. Windy in the morning over central parts of the state,
then becoming windy over southeastern parts later in the day. Hot to very hot
over northern parts, the Gascoyne, Goldfields and most parts of the South West
Land Division away from the south coast.
