Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A low pressure trough extends from the Kimberley and into the Pilbara. The
trough will be pushed towards the Pilbara coast today and Monday as a high
pressure centre moves into Bight waters and strengthens, bringing gusty east to
southeasterly winds to parts of the Pilbara. The trough weakens and moves back
inland from Tuesday, with winds easing.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is strengthening near the south coast. A high pressure
centre will then move into Bight waters on Sunday with a deepening trough
developing down the west coast next week. The southern portion of the trough
will move inland on Wednesday as a weak cold front brushes the western south
coast. Another trough rapidly develops down the west coast on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 27 October
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over most parts of the Kimberley, far
east Pilbara and northern and central parts of the Interior. Possible light
morning shower about southern coastal parts of the South West Land Division.
Chance of morning fog over inland southwestern parts. Windy over northern parts
of the State, apart from the Kimberley, and over central and southeastern parts
of the state. Hot to very hot over the north of the state.
Forecast for Monday 28 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the north and west Kimberley, north and
west Interior, eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Windy
over northern parts of the State, apart from the Kimberley, and over central
and southeastern parts of the state. Hot over northern parts of the state, the
west Gascoyne and northern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 29 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, north and western Interior, eastern Gascoyne, north and central
Goldfields and the inland northern South West Land Division. Windy over central
parts of the State. Hot to very hot over northern parts of the state, the west
Gascoyne and most parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Wednesday 30 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, most parts of the Interior, eastern Gascoyne, and north and central
Goldfields. Possible light shower about the Southwest Capes and along the south
coast to Albany. Windy over central parts of the State. Hot to very hot over
northern parts of the state, the Gascoyne, Goldfields and most parts of the
South West Land Division away from the south coast.
