Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from inland Kimberley to the northern Interior. A new trough
is developing about the west Pilbara coast and will slowly move inland on the
weekend. Meanwhile, a cloud band over the North Interior will slowly contract
east over the next couple of days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge extending along the south coast is slowly moving east. A trough is
developing near the west coast and will move inland on Saturday ahead of the
next weak cold front about the southwest coast. The next ridge will develop
slowly across the central west coast over the weekend A couple more weak cold
fronts will brush past the southwest coast early next week. Meanwhile, a cloud
band extending from the Pilbara, and across eastern Gascoyne to the Interior is
moving east slowly and brings unseasonal rain to the region.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 11 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms in western and northern Kimberley, eastern
and central Pilbara, western and southern Interior, Eucla, eastern Goldfields
and northeast Gascoyne. Rain areas over southern Interior. Slight chance of an
afternoon and evening shower or thunderstorm with little or rainfall over the
Darling Scarp, eastern parts of South West, western parts of Great Southern and
South Coastal districts. Very hot through inland and northern Kimberley and
very warm over the South West Land Division. Much cooler through the eastern
Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior. Windy at times during the day over
southern and central parts of the state. Smoke haze over the Lower West and
South West districts.
Forecast for Saturday 12 October
Showers and chance of a thunderstorm over southern and central parts of the
South West Land Division, southern Goldfields, Eucla, South Interior, northern
and western Kimberley. Very hot through the Kimberley and very warm over inland
South West Land Division, cooler about the west coast. Windy in the morning
through eastern Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 13 October
Light showers or drizzle over South West, South Coastal and southern parts of
Great southern. Showers and chance of a thunderstorm over southern Goldfields,
South East Coastal, Eucla, eastern Interior, northern and western Kimberley.
Chance of morning fog over inland southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Very hot through southern Kimberley, very warm over inland northern
parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Monday 14 October
Showers over southern and western parts of the South West Land Division.
southern Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent South Interior. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm over northern Kimberley. Chance of morning fog over inland
southern and central arts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through
southern Kimberley, very warm over eastern parts of the South West Land
Division.
