Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge will build across the Gascoyne coast today in the wake of a strong cold
front. A low pressure system will develop over the Kimberley later today with a
trough extending along the Pilbara coast. This low pressure system and trough
will then persist through to the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A dissipating cold front is moving over the far southeast of the State. A low
pressure system is then expected to pass close to the south coast during this
morning. A new ridge of high pressure will develop across the central west and
Gascoyne coasts during today and slip gradually south on Friday and Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 3 October
Showers over the South West Land Division and southern Gascoyne. Showers and
chance of thunderstorms over the Goldfields, Eucla, eastern parts of South East
Coastal district and Interior. Cool over southern and central parts of the
state. Windy over southern parts of the state. Surf conditions will be
hazardous for coastal activities about the west and southwest coasts.

Forecast for Friday 4 October
Showers over the South West Land Division. Chance of an afternoon shower or
thunderstorm over the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Saturday 5 October
Showers over the South West Land Division. Chance of an afternoon shower or
thunderstorm over the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Sunday 6 October
Showers southwest of a line from Mandurah to Bremer Bay. Chance of an afternoon
shower or thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
