Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough over the western Kimberley extends to the western Pilbara as
ridge over southeast WA moves east and builds over central Australia. The
trough will move east across the Pilbara, ahead of a strong cold front on
Wednesday. A new ridge will build across the Gascoyne coast on Thursday and
bring a southerly wind change to the Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over southeast WA is moving east as a trough deepens near
the west coast. The trough will move inland tonight, ahead of a strong cold
front approaching from the Indian Ocean. The cold front is expected to sweep
through the South West Land Division on Wednesday, with associated low pressure
system near the southwest coast, before moving east to the Interior on
Thursday. A new ridge of high pressure will develop across the central west and
Gascoyne coasts on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 1 October
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, northern
and far western Goldfields, southwest Kimberley and Interior. Warmer throughout
the South West Land Division with possible showers and thunderstorms developing
during the afternoon and evening through inland and southern parts. Windy
across most parts of the state during the day.

Forecast for Wednesday 2 October
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
southwest Kimberley, Interior and South West Land Division. Small hail possible
over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Heavy falls possible over
the Interior, eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Cooler across the South West Land
Division. Windy south of the northern Kimberley, very windy about the southwest
coast. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities about the west
and southwest coasts.

Forecast for Thursday 3 October
Showers over the South West Land Division and southern Gascoyne. Showers and
chance of thunderstorms over Goldfields, Eucla, eastern parts of South East
Coastal and Interior. Chance of an afternoon shower over inland and northern
Kimberley. Cool over southern and central parts of the state. Windy over
southern parts of the state. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal
activities about the west and southwest coasts.

Forecast for Friday 4 October
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and Eucla.
Chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over northern and eastern
Kimberley.
