Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough over inland parts of northern WA is contracting towards the
east. A ridge of high pressure will strengthen into the west Pilbara during
today, then extend throughout the region by Sunday morning, bringing a surge of
fresh southeasterly winds. Another trough will begin to deepen over the north
Kimberley and Pilbara coast on Sunday, extending down the west coast from
Monday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front and trough moving through southern WA will pass into South
Australia this morning. A new ridge is strengthening across the west coast and
will become further established over southern and central WA during the
weekend. A trough will begin to deepen near the west coast from Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 28 September
Possible showers and thunderstorms in the north and east Kimberley and eastern
North Interior. Showers and thunderstorms gradually contracting eastward out of
the Eucla and contracting through the South Interior to be just in the
northeast corner by evening. Possible showers over southern and western parts
of the South West Land Division, most likely about coastal parts in the South
Coastal and South East Coastal Districts. Chance of a light morning frost over
the northern Great Southern and southwestern Central Wheat Belt.

Forecast for Sunday 29 September
Light showers southwest of a line from Perth to Bremer Bay with a possible
shower about the Esperance coast early in the morning. Showers and the chance
of thunderstorms over the east-central Kimberley and eastern North Interior.
Possible showers in the inland east Pilbara, western North Interior and
northern South Interior. Areas of morning frost through the inland South West
Land Division and adjacent southwestern Goldfields.

Forecast for Monday 30 September
Showers and thunderstorms over the Pilbara, northern Interior, northeastern
Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields, extending into the west Kimberley during
the afternoon and evening. Light showers southwest of a line from Bunbury to
Bremer Bay. Chance of morning fog over the Great Southern and inland parts of
the South West and South Coastal District.

Forecast for Tuesday 1 October
Showers and thunderstorms in the inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields and northern Interior. Warmer throughout the South West Land
Division with possible showers developing during the evening over northern and
central parts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
