Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough of low pressure will remain over the southern Kimberley,
Northern Interior and Pilbara for the next few days. The trough will move
northwards mid-week as a ridge strengthens to the southeast and brings fresh
east to southeasterly winds to the area.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extends along the south coast whilst a broad trough lies
inland from the west coast. A weak cold front will brush the southwest corner
of the State today before a new ridge moves in from the west. A high pressure
centre will move into Bight waters on Wednesday with a trough deepening down
the west coast.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 23 September
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, north and east
Gascoyne, and northern Goldfields. Isolated heavy falls possible over the
eastern Kimberley and eastern North Interior. Light showers possible over the
southwest corner of the State. Chance of morning fog over southern parts of the
South West Land Division. Smoke haze possible in the morning for parts of the
South West, Lower West, and western Great Southern districts.
Forecast for Tuesday 24 September
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Goldfields and western
Eucla. Isolated heavy falls possible over the far southeast Kimberley and far
eastern North Interior. Showers possible over the central and east Pilbara, far
eastern Gascoyne, eastern Eucla, and southern parts of the South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Wednesday 25 September
Showers and chance of thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley and
eastern parts of the North Interior. Showers over remaining areas east of a
line from about Newman to Bremer Bay. Showers slowly contracting east during
the day. Windy in the morning over central and southeastern parts of the state,

Forecast for Thursday 26 September
Showers and chance of thunderstorms over most parts of the Kimberley, far west
Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and western and central South West Land Division.
Windy in the morning and early afternoon over most parts of the state.
