Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough located over the Kimberley extends to the Pilbara coast. The trough
will move inland across the Pilbara today ahead of a new ridge to the
southwest. The trough will move back to the Pilbara coast on Wednesday as a
strong high develops in the Bight and directs an east to southeast wind surge
northwards.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough will move eastwards across the interior today, ahead of a weak front
brushing past the south coast. A new high pressure ridge will develop about the
southwest coast in the wake of the front later today. A strong high moving into
the Bight on Wednesday will direct fresh and gusty easterlies across southern
WA as a new west coast trough forms in the second half of the week.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 10 September
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers and
isolated thunderstorms across the far northern Goldfields, far southern
Goldfields, Eucla, South Interior, eastern Gascoyne, adjacent Pilbara, and
South East Coastal district. Isolated afternoon showers possible over northern
and western Kimberley, mainly near the coasts. Windy in the morning over
northeast Interior and far eastern Kimberley. Becoming windy at times over
southern WA in the evening.
Forecast for Wednesday 11 September
Showers over the Goldfields, Eucla, Interior, central and eastern Gascoyne, and
Pilbara. Chance of a thunderstorm over northeast Gascoyne, adjacent Goldfields,
western Interior and southeast Pilbara. Isolated afternoon showers possible
over northern and western Kimberley, mainly near the coasts. Chance of morning
fog over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times over
central and southern WA.
Forecast for Thursday 12 September
Rain or showers over Interior, far eastern Pilbara, northern Goldfields,
northeast Gascoyne and eastern Pilbara. Isolated afternoon showers possible
over northern and western Kimberley, mainly near the coasts. Windy at times
during the day.
Forecast for Friday 13 September
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division and Interior.
Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley coast. Chance of
morning fog over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times
during the day.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
