Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over the Gascoyne and Goldfields is slowly moving east. A
weak trough will develop near the Pilbara coast today before weakening tonight
as a new ridge pushes in over the western Gascoyne.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over the Gascoyne and Goldfields is slowly moving east
whilst another develops from the west. A strong cold front will move over the
South West Land Division tonight and Tuesday, followed by a high pressure
system on Wednesday. Another cold front will cross the southwest corner of the
State early on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 26 August
Showers southwest of a line Jurien Bay to Ravensthorpe, becoming more frequent
over the South West district. Becoming windy over southern parts of the South
West Land Division, very windy across the southern coastal districts. Morning
fog over northern parts of the South West Land Division and southern Gascoyne.
Very hot over western parts of the Kimberley and Pilbara. Surf conditions will
be hazardous for coastal activities between Cape Leeuwin and Albany.

Forecast for Tuesday 27 August
Showers southwest of a line Kalbarri to Balladonia. Windy over southern parts
of the State tending very windy across southern coastal districts. Very hot
through the western Kimberley and Pilbara. Surf conditions will be hazardous
for coastal activities between Cape Naturaliste and Albany.

Forecast for Wednesday 28 August
Light showers southwest of a line Kalbarri to Bremer Bay. Very hot over the
western Kimberley and Pilbara. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal
activities between Cape Leeuwin and Albany.

Forecast for Thursday 29 August
Showers increasing about the South West district and extending to southwest of
a line Denham to Eyre by evening. Very hot through the Pilbara and eastern
parts of the State. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities
between Cape Leeuwin and Albany.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
