Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge extending across southern Pilbara and western Gascoyne is pushing a
trough over the Kimberley and Pilbara coast inland where it is expected to
dissipate today. The ridge will move to central Australia over the next couple
of days. Another weak trough will develop over western Pilbara on Tuesday ahead
of the next cold front over southwest WA.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep low pressure system near the Esperance coast is slowly moving east,
maintaining a vigorous westerly flow across the southern half of the state
today. In the wake of the low a high pressure ridge extends over the central
west coast. A weak front will brush past the southwest coast on Tuesday,
followed by a stronger cold front along the west coast later in the week.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 19 August
Light showers over the South West Land Division, adjacent southern Gascoyne,
southern Goldfields and Eucla, more frequent and moderate over the southern
districts. Windy over southern parts of the state, contracting to south coast
later in the day. Patchy morning fog possible over northwest Kimberley and
inland Gascoyne. Tides will be higher than normal along the south coast.

Forecast for Tuesday 20 August
Light showers about the south coast and west coast, extending to much of the
South West Land Division during the day. Showers clearing about the Eucla coast
during the morning. Morning fog possible over northern parts of the South West
Land Division and adjacent Gascoyne.

Forecast for Wednesday 21 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, southern
Goldfields and Eucla. Morning fog possible over northern and eastern parts of
the South West Land Division, and adjacent Gascoyne.

Forecast for Thursday 22 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, Goldfields,
southern parts of the Interior and Eucla. Chance of a thunderstorm about the
southwest coast. Windy at times about central and southern parts of the state.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
