Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over the Pilbara is moving eastwards. Associated cloud band across the
Pilbara and the Interior is moving slowly eastwards, extending to Kimberley on
the weekend. A cooler southeast wind surge extends across the north on Sunday
and Monday as a ridge builds over central and southern Australia.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure system will move across the Central West coast on Friday
morning, before moving inland and weakening over southern Gascoyne. A cloud
band extending from the Gascoyne to Goldfields and Eucla is slowly contracting
eastwards. Rain and thunderstorms associated with these systems will slowly
ease over the weekend. Meanwhile, a high pressure system developing in the
Southern Ocean on Friday will extend a firm ridge across southern and central
WA during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 28 June
Showers and rain areas over the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, central and
southern Interior, Eucla and South West Land Division. Chance of thunderstorms
over the Goldfields, western Eucla, southern Gascoyne and across much of the
South West Land Division. Heavy falls possible over northern parts of the
Central Wheat Belt. Windy at times across the Gascoyne, adjacent Central West
and Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 29 June
Showers over the Interior, Goldfields, Eucla, eastern Pilbara, southwest
Kimberley, Gascoyne, eastern Pilbara and South West Land Division, easing over
the west coast, western Gascoyne and western Pilbara. Chance of morning fog
over the western Gascoyne.
Forecast for Sunday 30 June
Showers over the Interior, Goldfields, Eucla, eastern and southern Gascoyne and
the eastern parts of the South West Land Division, gradually easing from the
west. Chance of morning fog through southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Chance of morning fog over southern parts of the Southern West Land
Division.
Forecast for Monday 1 July
Showers over the Eucla, northeast Interior and eastern Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
