Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies near the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts which will push
offshore in the mornings as a ridge strengthens southeast of the State and
directs moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds over the area.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge and high pressure system lies to the southeast of the State while a
trough deepens off the west coast on Thursday. A moderate to strong cold front
will cross the southwest corner later Friday. A broad trough will form near the
west coast over the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 9 May
Possible shower or thunderstorm about the southwest Capes in the afternoon or
evening. Windy, mostly in the morning, over most of the state apart from
southeastern parts.

Forecast for Friday 10 May
Windy with widespread showers, gusty thunderstorms and moderate to possibly
heavy falls, southwest of Perth to Collie to Windy Harbour. Showers and
possible thunderstorms, with lighter falls expected, over remaining west
coastal parts of the South West Land Division, extending to southwest of a line
from Kalbarri to Hopetoun during the day. Mostly sunny over the remainder of
the state. Windy, mostly in the morning, over northern parts, inland central
parts and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 11 May
Possible light shower south of a line Lancelin to Kellerberrin to Esperance,
with the chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in eastern parts. Windy morning
over northern parts of the State. Morning fog possible over western and central
inland parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 12 May
Possible showers southwest of Jurien Bay to Hopetoun.
