Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough of low pressure extending from the Pilbara coast to inland parts
of the Kimberley is moving further inland.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extending from the western Gascoyne to the Eucla coast is moving
inland ahead of a ridge expanding across the southern districts. A new trough
will quickly form down the west coast today, deepening on Wednesday and
Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 13 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and North Interior. Chance of
afternoon and evening thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the Pilbara
and northern parts of South Interior. Windy over southern parts of the state,
gusty over the Darling Scarp in the morning. Very hot over the far southwest
Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, central Interior, northern Goldfields and
northern parts of the Central West district.
Forecast for Wednesday 14 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of afternoon and
evening thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the Pilbara, northern
Interior and northern Gascoyne. Windy about central and southwestern parts in
the morning, including the Darling Scarp. Very hot over the far southwest
Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, and northern parts of the South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Thursday 15 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of afternoon and
evening thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the Pilbara, northwest
Interior, inland Gascoyne, Central West, northern parts of Central Wheat Belt
and northern parts of Lower West districts. Windy in the morning about central
and southwestern parts in the morning, including the Darling Scarp. Very hot
over southwest Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and
most parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Friday 16 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley. Chance
of afternoon and evening thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the
Pilbara, northwest Interior, Gascoyne, inland and southern parts of the South
West Land Division. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Goldfields and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
