Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough of low pressure lies over inland parts of northern WA. A ridge
will extend into the west Pilbara during the weekend, freshening winds over the
area. The ridge is expected to push the trough northward closer to the Pilbara
coast early next week, resulting in fresher east to southeasterly surges during
the morning through southern parts of the region.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough is moving inland from the west coast and will continue advancing
towards the east during Saturday, with the trough passing into South Australia
by Sunday morning. The northern end of a cold front will cross the southwest
corner on Saturday, followed by a ridge strengthening through southern and
western parts of the State. The ridge will continue to strengthen through
central WA on Monday and Tuesday as a high moves into the Southern Ocean and a
new trough deepens down the west coast.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 3 February
Very hot over inland northern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division
but cooler over southern and coastal western parts. Also very hot in the inland
Gascoyne, Goldfields, inland Pilbara and Interior. Possible showers and gusty
thunderstorms over the inland northeast Pilbara and mainly northern and western
parts of the Kimberley. Possible showers over the south coast districts with
the chance of thunderstorms south and west of a line from Harvey to Bremer Bay.
